Awards

So here they are!  These are all the images that have done well in competitions around the world.

My greatest competition achievement was the BBC/Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year – specially commended, for Great Foot, in 2007.  (Since then, five other images have made the finals and over 30 have made the semi finals, all of which I am really proud of).   The previous year kicked off the real success, when I was named the Fuji/Getaway Wildlife Photographer of the year, (Bumblebee business), and received a 2nd runner up in birds, as well as knocking off six certificates.  I have continued to do well in that competition, and in 2009 I won the Animal Behavior category, with an image called ‘Dusty dash’.  2010 was highlighted with two honourable mentions in the Spanish based competition, Fotocam, (‘Cleaning service‘, and ‘Afternoon bath’).  Another little surprise from 2010, was a highly commended in the inaugural BBC wildlife’s camera trap competition, for the ‘Hyaena portrait’ image.  I have reached the semi finals of the Windland Smith Rice/Nature’s Best wildlife photography competition on a number of occasions, and would really like to break into that competition in 2012.

2012′s competition season is well under way, and it has been interesting so far.  I hope to be updating this page soon with some more good news!
